Bedford Community Table/Pantry, Inc
The Bedford Food Pantry is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Its formal corporate name is Bedford Community Table/Pantry, Inc. For decades it provided weekly food distributions and community dinners. It stopped distributing food in 2020 early in the pandemic when the town took over this function. It now is the primary financial supporter of the Bedford Food Bank and also supports some other local food programs.
Bedford Food Pantry and Bedford Food Bank: What’s the difference?
Even though the nonprofit no longer provides food directly, the name “Bedford Food Pantry” is deeply embedded in the community so we continue to use it. You may also see it called BCT/P. The best way to support the Bedford Food Bank financially is to donate to the Bedford Food Pantry.
The Bedford Food Bank is a program of the Town of Bedford. It distributes food to residents in need weekly on Thursdays. It was created in 2020 during the pandemic and is the town’s main food assistance program. The Bedford Food Bank itself does not accept monetary donations. Supporters should donate to the Bedford Food Pantry instead.
Together, we work to ensure no one in Bedford goes hungry.
Bedford Food Bank
The Bedford Food Bank is open for drive-through food pick up Thursdays 4:00-5:30 in front of Town Center, 12 Mudge Way. If you’re in need of food, call 781-275-7727.
